Senior Experiences
TAC Experiential Learning
This year, I enrolled in a class called TAC (Technology Assistance Center) Experiential
Learning, where myself and a few other people are part of the TAC team for one period
every day.
Similar to my senior internship, I help solve
problems and apply IT best practices to help everyone at our school. We fix computers, have
access to the support tickets people make, and can communicate with teachers and staff to
create solutions for problems.
Cane's Kitchen Training
Until summer of 2025, all I did during my work at Raising Cane's was within
the drive-thru area. This past summer, I got trained to work in the kitchen,
where I actually make the food.
It's a lot more challenging than drive-thru
because you have to keep up with demand, while also not making too much
product and wasting food. This is a very careful balance that varies depending
on the time of day and the day of the week.
CompTIA Network+
Since earning my CompTIA A+ certification in my junior year, I am seeking to earn a
second certification, Network+. This certification is also from CompTIA, and it will
allow me to do more network-related stuff in the field of IT.
I'm still working on
earning this cert, but once I'm done I will have to take the final exam, similar
to the process for A+. Hopefully this additional cert will help me prepare and get
a job in IT in the future. My goal is to have this certification finished
by March 31, 2026, so I can take the test in an organized school trip.
College Applications
Since I am pursuing higher education, it's time to apply for colleges. I applied to six schools:
- Wright State University
- University of Dayton
- University of Cincinnati
- Miami University (Oxford, OH)
- Ohio University (Athens, OH)
- Purdue University (West Lafayette)
I applied to these schools to pursue Computer Science, and I want to eventually manage an IT/tech team at a large company and have a large impact on many people through IT.
