Junior Experiences

Overview

This year, I've been inspired to do a lot of things, including school projects, Boy Scout projects, and personal life goals, some of which you can read about on my projects page. But that's not why you're on this page. You want to know more about my life outside of school, and I'm here to talk about them. I also love my car.

Canes Crewmember

Since June of 2024, I have been employed by Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers as a Crewmember, primarily working in Drive-Thru. This job has taught me a lot, and since it revolves heavily around customer service, I've learned how to deal with difficult customers and learned how to serve food and drinks efficiently and with quality.

DPYO

The Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (DPYO) is a part of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA), which is a company that owns a bunch of music and fine arts groups, such as balet and the main orchestra.

This school year marks my third season with the group, and am currently a co-principal trombone. To manage a section of other trombones and a tuba is fairly simple this year, as I have the leadership skills and we're all good friends.

We've seen a lot of challenges with hard music, and, with limited time to rehearse (only once per week for around 3 hours), we occasionally have difficulty perfecting the 3 concerts-per-year worth of music. Nevertheless, our low brass section persists.

Boy Scouts

Scouts BSA (Formerly Boy Scouts of America) is an organization that I think everyone would benefit from. There are so many reasons for this, but I think the biggest comes down to the twelve points of the Scout Law. A Scout is:

  • Trustworthy
  • Loyal
  • Helpful
  • Friendly
  • Courteous
  • Kind
  • Obedient
  • Cheerful
  • Thrifty
  • Brave
  • Clean and
  • Reverent

As you might guess, these twelve points are pivotal in a Scout's experience in their Troop and in everyday life. A Scout must do their best to be all of these things every day, maintaining integrity and inspiring others to do the same. I am currently working toward Eagle Scout.
