Privacy Policy

Effective August 15, 2026

Flockless Maps does not require an account and does not intentionally store your searches or trip history. Map features rely on third-party services that receive the information needed to answer your request.

Information you provide

When you search for a place, plan a route, load camera data, use location services, or submit a bug report, you provide information such as place names, addresses, coordinates, route endpoints, device location, and report details. Avoid entering sensitive personal information.

How the map works

Route comparison and camera-exposure scoring are performed in your browser. Flockless Maps does not intentionally maintain a server-side record of your trips. Your browser may temporarily retain ordinary cached site files or form values.

Third-party services

The site sends requests necessary to provide maps, place search, routing, camera data, and bug reporting to services operated by third parties, including OpenStreetMap-based providers, routing providers, DeFlock, and Google Forms. Those providers may receive search terms, coordinates, route endpoints, IP address, browser information, and request metadata under their own privacy policies. Their practices are outside our control.

Device location

The “Locate me” feature uses the browser’s geolocation permission. Location is requested only after you activate the feature and is used to position the map or an endpoint. You can deny or revoke this permission in your browser.

Bug reports

Bug reports are collected through Google Forms. The report may contain any route details, screenshot link, device information, or email address you choose to submit. This information is used to investigate problems and communicate with you when requested.

Cookies and analytics

Flockless Maps does not intentionally set advertising cookies or operate its own behavioral analytics. Hosting and third-party services may process technical logs or set their own storage as described in their policies.

Data sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only as necessary with the third-party services described above, when you direct us to do so, or when required by law. Voluntary bug reports may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to investigate, document, and prevent problems.

Your choices

You may use map clicks instead of location services, decline browser permissions, avoid submitting optional bug-report information, clear browser storage, or stop using the service. You may also use privacy tools provided by your browser.

Changes

This policy may change as the service evolves. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
